Connecting a Page
Connecting a Page is the first step to start using ManyChat. After you click on Get Started Free,
you will see Sign In With Facebook button - clicking on it confirms that you grant necessary permissions to ManyChat which you can look up at https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools by clicking on the ManyChat app.
Once you log in with your personal Facebook account, you will be asked to complete a couple of really short questionnaires and give your Account a name.
Click Continue when you are done - it will take you to Dashboard:
Finally, to connect a Facebook Page, click Connect under the "Facebook" channel. You will see a list of Facebook Pages you can add to the system. Note that the Admin role should be assigned to you on the Facebook Page, and the Page itself should not contain any age or country restrictions. If you restrict your Page to certain ages or certain countries, ManyChat will not work properly.
If you see the Join button like in the screenshot below, it means the Page is already connected to ManyChat and you are the Owner of ManyChat account with this page. It will not be possible to create another account for it, so you'll need to join the existing one by clicking this button.
It's also possible to join an account with an invitation link that the current ManyChat admin can generate for you.
If you see Request access button, that means that the Page is already connected to other ManyChat account and you should ask the Owner of this account to let you join it.
You can find more info about requesting access process here.
In case you connected a Page by mistake, or just want to pause the ManyChat bot on it for a while, there is an option to disconnect the Page in the Settings tab. No worries - your contacts and automation you have set up will not be removed! You can always enable the bot back on by connecting the Page again.
You can also completely remove Facebook page from the account, if you don't want to continue using it. But in this case all your contacts will be completely removed too.
If you're having trouble connecting a Facebook Page to ManyChat, ask yourself the following questions to start the troubleshooting process:
- Am I an Admin on the Facebook Page I'm trying to set up? If not, ask the Page owner for Admin status on the Facebook Page you want to connect.
- Am I using Internet Explorer to set up ManyChat? If so, try switching to the latest version of Chrome.
- Do I have Messenger enabled on my Facebook Page? Make sure the Messages option is enabled in the Page's general settings.
