If you're unable to connect your Instagram account to ManyChat, there are a couple of requirements you'll need to check in the Instagram mobile app, before you can connect your account.
This article will guide you through the easy steps you'll need to follow in the Instagram mobile app to set your account up properly to connect ManyChat.
Make sure you have an Instagram business account
Instagram only allows automation on business accounts. Please make sure that you convert a Personal account to a business account by following these steps:
Open the Instagram mobile app and select your account
Go to Menu → Settings → Account → Switch Account Type, select ‘Switch to Professional Account’ and follow the instructions
Confirm that ManyChat can access messages in Instagram
This setting allows ManyChat to access and send messages from your Instagram account and is required to use DM automation. Follow these steps to enable access:
Open your Instagram mobile app and select your Business account
Go to Menu → Settings → Privacy → Messages → Connected Tools and toggle ON ‘Allow Access to Messages'
Once you’ve completed the above, go back to ManyChat and try to reconnect your Instagram account .
